Custom Highlighting (Keyword Highlighting)
You can now add custom highlights to documents, allowing specific keywords to stand out visually. This feature helps you spot important terms across sections like the abstract, claims, and more. While custom highlights don’t filter results, they enhance visibility and tracking of keywords.
What You Can Do with Custom Highlights:
- Highlight specific keywords throughout documents.
- Choose highlight colors for better visual organization.
- See highlight counts by section (e.g., abstract, claims).
- Use wildcards and phrases (proximity searches not supported).
Creating a Custom Highlight
To get started, click Edit Highlights in the top right corner:
In the popup tab:
- Enter the keyword or phrase you want to highlight.
- Click Add.
- Repeat for additional keywords.
You can also apply wildcards as custom filter using the same symbols as with keyword filters. Read more about it here. Phrases are also supported, however proximity searches are not.
Once you're satisfied, click Save. Your keywords will now appear highlighted in the document. On the results page, a new column will show how many times each keyword appears per document.

Changing the Highlight Colour

You may decide to temporarily hide a highlight for your search purposes. To do so, simply click the eye icon on the right hand side. To bring it visible again, re-click the eye symbol and click save.
Deleting a Highlight
You can also remove a highlight by clicking the trash icon and then clicking save.
