Exporting Your Prior Art

NLPatent offers a seamless process for exporting prior art references, empowering users to organize and analyze relevant information effectively. With two distinct export options, users can choose to export between their filtered search results or their saved results. This article outlines the steps to export these lists, highlighting the customizable properties and format choices available.

Exporting Filtered Search Results:

Once users have refined their search using keyword filters or AI refinement, they can export their results as an Excel file (.xlsx). Simply click the download button on the upper right corner when toggled on the your “Results” page.

NLPatent provides the flexibility to select specific properties as columns in the sheet, tailoring the exported data to individual preferences. Users can choose from properties to include such as:

  • Document Number
  • Title
  • Publication date
  • Priority date
  • CPC subclass
  • Inventors
  • Applicants
  • Current assignees
  • Abstract
  • Notes
  • Relevance Analysis (if generated)

Then simply click download, and the selected properties will appear in the heading as columns in the .xlsx file. Remember, you can go back to refine or filter further and export multiple lists as needed.

Exporting Saved Results:

Users can also export their saved results that they have deemed relevant, which also have been utilized by our AI to refine the search. For this list, two export options are available: Excel and Word document (.docx). Ensure you are toggled on your “Saved” results tab.

Excel (.xlsx. file)

In the Excel export, users can customize the column headers based on their preferences, similar to the filtered search results export above to download.

Word (.doc file)

The Word document export generates a summary report of the NLPatent search. It includes the user's inquiry submission, a summary of saved results with document numbers, and their corresponding abstracts. Please note that the Word document is non-modifiable and serves as a ready-made report.

Optimizing Export Strategies:

NLPatent encourages users to experiment with various strategies before exporting reports. By fine-tuning filters, refining queries, and leveraging AI-based refinement with saved results, users can curate a high-quality list of prior art references. Take advantage of multiple exports throughout the search process to maintain flexibility and capture the most relevant information for your project.

Conclusion:

Exporting prior art references with NLPatent is a straightforward process that facilitates efficient organization and analysis of patent search results. Whether exporting filtered search results or saved results, users have the freedom to select desired properties and choose between Excel and Word document formats.
