Sharing Patents Externally
After finding piece(s) of relevant prior art, you may want to share it with others. Beyond the export function, NLPatent’s Share button lets you generate a special link that can be sent to anyone to preview a patent, even if they don’t have an NLPatent account.
How it works:
- Click the Share button on the patent page.
- A “magic” URL will be copied to your clipboard automatically.
- Paste the link into an email, message, or document to share it.
Things to know:
- The link is valid for 30 days from the time it is generated.
- These links are also included in Monitor alert emails sent to non-NLPatent users.
- However, the links the exported reports do not have these links currently.
- Non-Users will have access to everything on the patent page, except Ask NLPatent
This makes it easier to share patents with both internal and external collaborators. It is especially useful for sharing non-English patents that have been machine-translated in NLPatent.
